This year I had the opportunity to meet some amazing musicians, and I attended/covered more shows than I can count (I did count though: 22 shows and over 40 artists).
Most of the shows were good, if not great, but some stick out more than others. To reminisce on 2014, and welcome in 2015, I’d like to share my pick of the top 6 concerts for 2014 – this is my subjective list and only includes bands whose concerts I’ve been to this year.
6. Foster the People (6/1/14): Foster the People is an all-around incredible band. Mark Foster’s genius for songwriting and composing really stands out live, and his vision manifests through music and stunning visuals. The band headlined for BDF in San Francisco this year, and thanks to a stroke of luck, a friend and I were able to see them in amazing seats. Foster’s voice has the ability to pierce through the air and his band mates are not far behind with crisp instrumentals. I am a big fan of the band’s latest album and especially delighted in finding out that they sound just as great live. Anyone who enjoys art and music will feel right at home seeing Foster the People.
