“Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)!” is as a great preview to the band’s forthcoming album, Vikings and perfectly picks up from the band’s last release, “A Bad Girl in Harlem.”
The new single infuses some of the raw musical elements found in their debut album, “New Politics,” yet still manages to make it sound completely new.
Band members David Boyd, Louis Vecchio and Soren Hansen prove they have much more to offer to their fans and the music industry than just radio-friendly songs such as “Harlem” and “Tonight You’re Perfect” – still both excellent tunes.
Their new song incorporates fun and thoughtful lyrics including a rally raising chorus and even drops a musical reference to the New York native Beastie Boys, proclaiming “everybody knows, there’s no sleep till Brooklyn, no sleep.”
The song pays homage to the no holds barred and positive attitude of the everyday “kings and queens” the band meets through their music and touring.
It’s a salute to their fans, their adversaries and their lovers.

Boyd sings, “We get by, we get high, yeah we roll with it. We’ve been up, we’ve been down, we got over it.”
Without a doubt, New Politics are a band for the people and go the extra mile for their fans.
When I first met Boyd during a free concert, he was extremely happy to talk with me. He thanked me for going to the show and even danced with me on stage. The last time we met, I was taking pictures of their concert for a newspaper article. Boyd stepped off stage to crowd surf, but not before noticing me in between the barriers. He smiled at me and made sure to give me a hug before stepping back on stage. He was always friendly and more than willing to take the extra time to talk to me.
My stories aren’t unique though, as it seems many fans have had similar experiences. New Politics always enjoy interacting with fans and show gratitude for the love and support they receive.
“Everywhere I go (Kings and Queens)!” is a great example of the mark they’ve left on their fans, and even more so, the impact their fans have made on them.
New Politics have less than a month left on their Everywhere I Go Fall Tour with Somekindawonderful and Bad Suns, but they have said that Vikings will debut sometime in February (“Hopefully” says Boyd).
I look forward to hearing more new music from the boys, and wish them luck as they carry out their headline tour.
