While Augustana may have been the main act, and don't get me wrong, they were great too, I was truly taken aback by the sincere and understated power of Scars on 45's performance. They were without a doubt fun, personable and most importantly, gave fans a brilliant performance.
Equipped with charming accents and a hell of a voice, the pair were able to quiet the room enough to give a very humbled and harmonized performance -- seriously the vocal talent they have is something worth mentioning.
The rest of the band's performance was flawless, with the perfect amount of variety and a signature sound.
One thing I really liked about this band's performance was their ability to capture both an Indie sound with a folk inspired vibe. Their set, while short, was diverse, and their songs were catchy, deep and full of passion -- they left left me wishing I had known the lyrics so I could sing along.
The band will continue to tour with Augustana through December and hopefully, they'll add some headline dates after that (just wishful thinking).
Until then, I suggest you pick up their latest album, "Safety in Numbers," and we'll keep an eye out for them the next time they swing by.
