BØRNS had an amazing year filled with a few great songs including 10,000 Emerald Pools & American Money, but no song made a bigger impact than Electric Love. Check out our Borns concert review HERE.
Yes Shut Up & Dance came out in 2014 & yes it was huge in 2014, but we'd be lying to ourselves if we didn't admit that this song got us dancing in 2015 as well! Check out our Talking Is Hard Review HERE.
Some people thought that Wilder Mind wasn’t as good as the other two Mumford & Sons records. To those people I say… You’re wrong! Is it different? Yes. But it’s uniquely Mumford. No banjo was a good thing for this record. What did you think? Leave us a comment below.
"Even mistakes aren't really mistakes at all." Wow what a great line. Molecules by Atlas Genius reminded us that we're all human. We all make mistakes, as long as we learn from them and try to become better it's okay to mess up.
How do we describe Downtown in one word? EPIC! Macklemore really out did himself on this track. Maybe it doesn't fit into the alternative and indie category but it sure as hell falls under the kickass category! That's why it made our top songs of 2015 list.
We put The Decemberists' Make You Better at #10 on our 2015 countdown. See what we thought of the whole record: What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. Full review HERE.
We've had so much fun getting to know Magic Man this year! We've had Before The Waves on repeat ever since it dropped. We knew we wanted to include a track from the record on our 2015 countdown. Between Paris, Texas, & Catherine the decision was tough, but Tonight just felt right! Watch our interview with Magic Man HERE.
Ryan had a baby this year and Cecelia & The Satellite was a great track to remind him about his baby girl. Taking that into account as well as the fact that our brother Mike loves Andrew McMahon made including this track a no brainer. Read our concert review HERE.
The guys from Knox Hamilton are probably the nicest guys you will ever meet. We can't get their track Work It Out "out" of our heads. Watch our Knox Hamilton interview HERE.
We recently featured Death Cab For Cuties latest Kintsugi on our Saturday Morning Vinyl series. Get James' take on No Room in from HERE. It's also worth noting that there were so many great tracks on this record, including: Black Sun, The Ghost Of Beverly Drive, & Little Wanderer.
"NO NEED TO SMOTHER IT" Ain't that the truth! Saint Motel has been on a role this year. If you were alive in 2015 you heard their hit My Type, but Cold Cold Man takes the #5 spot on our 2015 countdown. Why? Because we feel like it describes the modern man.. and we are modern men.
“Things happen, That’s all they ever do” has been one of our 2015 mantras ever since we heard Things Happen by Dawes. Special thanks to our friend Zoey for getting us into Dawes! All Your Favorite Bands is a great record by the way, look for a Saturday Morning Vinyl feature soon.
As fans of the Cold War Kids for most of their 11 year career, it's great to see them blow up in 2015. F&F has been rocking out to classic tracks like Hang Me Up To Dry & Audience since we heard them. First has a lot of sentimental value to us, we'll share why in a post soon. Check out our Outpost Fest coverage HERE.
Under The Pressure is nothing short of cinematic & that’s why it’s #2 on our top 15 countdown. This track and Red Eye were two songs you hoped played on Sirius XMU when you got in the car! And when they did you knew the music Gods were on your side that day.
Now it’s time for our #1 song of 2015! Our criteria for picking this track was simple "which track did we have on repeat the most from the second we heard it?" The Answer… Downtown.. Majical Cloudz!
Once we heard Downtown we were hooked, maybe it’s the hopeless romantic in both of us, but that line in the second verse “And if suddenly I die, I hope they will say, That he was obsessed and it was okay” Now that true love.
