If you haven't heard of Sofar Sounds, you're missing out!
The loft starts to fill up, and attendees begin to express to me their love for the Sofar experience. This wasn’t their first show, and it wouldn’t be their last. The audience was asked to share where they had seen a Sofar show before and one concert goer excitedly yelled out, “Melbourne, Australia!” All I could think was,“ That’s freaking awesome”. Now I was more excited than ever for the show to start because if someone from Australia went out of their way to come see this.. it must be good!
That night, we were treated to three talented performers. Roah Summit kicked it off with a two piece arrangement. Lead singer Jake Berry mentioned that the band usually has more members, but the two person setup really worked for the intimate space. The audience was as into it and so was I. No one was talking or looking at their phone or Instagram feed, they were just there to enjoy the music. You can catch Roah Summit live Saturday Dec. 5th & 12th at the Constellation room in Santa Ana, CA & The Wayfarer. Get tickets here.
Last but certainly not least, My Double My Brother took the stage.. or loft floor. My favorite song they played was “I’ll Die”. Check it out here. The sun began to set and as the night came to an end, stringed bulb lights were brought out to light the room and set a relaxing glow throughout the room.
